Kiboga RDC Cautions New Staff against divisive Politics
By Bamukyaye Alex, DCO Kiboga.
Kiboga Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Haji Moses Ddumba raised warning against the newly recruited and promoted civil servants to desist from joining divisive politics.
Ddumba’s warning came last week when he was closing a two day induction training organized by the District in the Council Hall.
“I want to warn everybody here that you have not got the job to join politics. Be patient, and possibly join active politics after 2031.”
He was particularly concerned that his office is learning that some civil servants instead of working to provide and, improve service delivery, are resorting to politicking at a time when the country needs their services the most.
He noted that the Central Government has prioritized to improve the social economic condition of its people through deliberate Programs such as PDM, EMIYOOGA, UPE, USE, Grow among others.
Ddumba clarified that Government programs have a wide spectrum to impact positively on the social economic condition of every Ugandan without discrimination whatsoever.
His counterpart, Deputy RDC, Jeremy Namanya similarly said they have learnt that some staffs have deliberately become inefficient by working either fewer hours or do nothing during the day although they report for work daily.
“We know that some of you are busy on social media, and as a result, you give less time to our clients. In a way you have become less relevant because you have betrayed the country for which we all owe allegiance.”
And in this respect, he mentioned that in health units, and schools across the District, the vice is becoming a matter of concern, urging that it should be addressed by all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Nsubuga Zirimenya advised the new recruited and staff on promotion to be exemplary by being; apolitical, efficient, loyal, disciplined, hardworking and patient.
Zirimenya could add that: “No amount of money will solve all your problems. Do not get rich very fast. Get rich progressively. Be patient, keep relevant, professional. Avoid drug abuse, corruption.”
He told the in-coming staff to always refer to the Public Service Standing Orders 2023, Public Service, Local Governments, and District Clients’ Charters for better performance while in service.
At least sixty staffs have been appointed in various positions and the rest received promotions totaling to 107 all combined, making this year’s induction historical in Kiboga’s annals.
He concluded that with good attitude, knowledge, and skills, they are destined to excel in their various professional calling.
